Plateau United defender Christopher Nwaeze has completed his transfer to Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk with the details of the transfer fee remaining undisclosed.
Zorya Luhansk officially announced the signing of the former U-20 and U-23 defender on their official social media handle.
Christopher has previously played for Nigerian clubs including Akwa United, Kwara United and Plateau United.
Nwaeze has also featured for Plateau United in the African Champions League and the Confederations Cup. He has represented Nigeria at the U-20 and U-23 levels.
The club statement read: “Nigerian central defender Christopher Nwaeze became the next rookie of Luhansk Zorya in the winter of 2024,” the club stated.
“Christopher played exclusively for Nigerian clubs: Akwa United (14 matches), Kwara United (63 matches, 7 goals) and Plateau United (25 matches, 3 goals and 1 assist).
“It was for Plateau United that he played in the African Champions League and the Confederations Cup. At one time, he was called up to the U-20 and U-23 teams of Nigeria.
“We are happy to congratulate Christopher on his move to Zorya and wish him bright matches for the “black and whites”.
