6 Reasons Why Rohr MUST be Worried about Super Eagles in Seychelles

Date:

Nigeria play away to Seychelles in a 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifying match next month and while the teams aren’t on the same level, based on pedigree, we have 6 reasons why the Super Eagles should be wary of this trip to the Island Nation.

Seychelles may not be known for their footballing prowess, indeed, ranked 188 in the world and 139 places below Nigeria in the latest FIFA Monthly coefficient for countries, but, what they lack in football talents, they more than make up for it in pleasure spots.

The match scheduled to hold in Victoria, the capital of Seychelles, is a tourism destination and even for a professional football, there is too much to get you distracted.

A full compliment of the 24 players invited by Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, for the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier are expected to arrive the Indian Ocean Island three days before gameday, and that’s a lot of time to get into trouble.

Here are six reasons why Rohr should be worried:

Koktel bar

A new bar popular with the young crowd. It is located in the centre of town at the ‘Vilaz Flamboyant’ on Bois de Rose Avenue on the outskirts of the capital city of Victoria. Koktel is a wooden prefabricated kiosk with a nice veranda. The bar offers unique cocktail mixes with most of them having creole names. The bar also offers DJ entertainment every weekend by one of the local entertainers, DJ Slam.

Barrel bar

The Barrel nightclub and bar is one of the oldest in Seychelles. Currently, it is the only nightclub in Victoria. Located on Revolution Avenue, Barrel bar offers a simple but wild atmosphere. It is the place to enjoy the best beers. It is also ideal for sports lovers, as one has the option of playing billiard games and watching the best football matches on the big screens.

Amusement Centre bar

One of the most popular casinos in Victoria, Amusement Centre offers a good mixture of games of luck and good drinks. The bar also offers frequent entertainment by local bands, making it the place to be for all age groups on weekdays or weekends.

Gran Kaz bar

Gran Kaz, considered as the leading casino in Seychelles, opened in 2014. Situated on Francis Rachel Street, it offers modern entertainment in an attractive, relaxed atmosphere. Gran Kaz is located in Mercury House, a recently renovated colonial style building over 100 years old.

Coco Blu Bar

The Coco Blu Bar is the bar with THE prime location in Victoria. Right in the heart of the capital city facing the Victoria clock tower – a 150-year-old monument. Formerly the l’Horloge bar and restaurant, the Coco Blu bar sits at the interception of four roads with rich historical links: Frances Rachel Street, Independence Avenue, Statehouse Avenue and Albert Street.

La Dolce Vita Bar

Bustling from morning to night, La Dolce Vita is a popular rendezvous place for locals and visitors alike. A few metres down from Statehouse, the place offers clients a variety of drinks, with the option of sitting inside or outside on the patio.
