Zakynthos forward Besto Azu has been cleared by doctors and is already training with the rest of the team after he suffered a shock following Friday’s 6.4 Magnitude earthquake that rocked the Island and several parts of Europe.
Azu, who joined the local Zante club this year, told footballlive.ng in an exclusive interview, that he couldn’t move from the bed when the second tremor that lasted 10 minutes struck.
“The first one happened around 1:45am on the 26th. It lasted for like a minute or two. Then the second, which was a bigger tremor happened around 2am; all the buildings were shaking.
“I was asleep at the time and when I felt the massive tremor I couldn’t move on or from the bed. When I managed to gather myself; the tremor had lasted 10 minutes.
“Eventually, when it stopped everybody had to run outside and I was still in shock, I was panting and my heart rate was intense.
“I was rushed to the hospital, I’m better now and I feel strong Today, but I’m just relieved that nobody was injured,” Azu told footballlive.ng
The former Södertälje FK player said he was given a two day rest period by the club, but had a light training session with the team on Saturday.

Zakynthos do not play this weekend, but several other matches across Greece have been cancelled as a result of the earthquake.
