Heartland of Owerri coach, Christian Obi has expressed immense joy at breaking the winless streak in the ongoing 2023/2024 NPFL season. After enduring a challenging period, Obi secured his first victory in 17 attempts with a decisive 2-0 win over Abia Warriors in the Match Day 25 Oriental Derby held in Awka.
In his statement following the long-awaited triumph, Obi conveyed his excitement and gratitude to all those who supported him during the tough times. He acknowledged the process of climbing the league ladder, emphasizing the importance of taking one step at a time towards success.

The victory left Heartland FC in the 19th position on the league table, accumulating 23 points in their battle to avoid relegation.
