Garba Emphasizes On Team Improvement

Nigeria’s under 17 head coach, Manu Garba has reiterated that the team will get better as they progress. The 58 year old was speaking after the team claimed their first win of the WAFU B tournament, a 1-0 win over Niger.

He stated that this was only the team’s second international game, as they did not play any friendlies before the competition.

 

“This second match is our second international match. We are the only country that didn’t play any international friendly before the tournament. This team will improve as they progress”.

 

 

Garba also highlighted Nigeria’s pedigree at the under 17 level, stating that Nigeria is the number one country because they have won the world cup 5 times.

He further emphasized that there are no simple games in the tournament, as all participating nation want to qualify. He then concluded that football is developing quickly, and there are no minnows in the game anymore.

 

“Now, in football, there’s no minor, we don’t underrate any team. Every other country is developing swiftly. There are no simple matches, even if it’s friendly, every match is difficult. So I don’t think the matches are difficult for us at all”.
