RESULT: Brazil 1 – 1 Switzerland…Neymar Kept Quiet As Brazil Drop Points

Date:

It was a frustrating evening for Brazil, who drew 1-1 with Switzerland in their 2018 FIFA World Cup, Group E match at the Rostov Arena on Sunday.

Switzerland had the first shot on goal in the third minute when a clever right-side ball from Xherdan Shaqiri found Blerim Dzemaili in space inside the box, but he fired just over from ten-yards out.

Brazil’s first scoring chance came ten minutes later when a low left-sided cross from Neymar was met by Paulinho, but he scuffed his shot inches wide from only a couple of yards out.

The South Americans continued to dictate terms after that and took the lead in the 20th minute when Philippe Coutinho curled a spectacular 22-yard effort into the top corner, 1-0.

The game slowed down a bit after the opening goal as Switzerland controlled the flow of the game and Brazil seemed content to sit back in defence.

Still, despite all their possession the European side could not create any significant goal scoring chances and entered the half time break trailing by a goal.
