Manchester City youngsters, Tosin Adarabioyo and Lukas Nmecha have both been left out of The Citizens’ squad to battle FC Basel of Switzerland in the UEFA Champions League.
While Basel could have recently signed Noah Okafor on the pitch against the English Premier League leaders, Adarabioyo and Nmecha did not travel for the round of 16 clash, which holds in Switzerland on Tuesday.
Recently promoted to the first team by manager Pep Guardiola and registered for the knockout rounds, Nmecha and Adarabioyo were not part of the 20 players that travelled to Basel.
Nmecha was recently promoted to City’s first-team and has already made the match day squads three times, including Saturday’s Premier League tie with Leicester City.
On the other hand, 17-year-old Okafor is eligible to be fielded against the English opponents and took part in full training ahead of the match at St. Jakob-Park in Basel.
However, it remains to be seen if Basel manager, Raphael Wicky will hand the attacking midfielder his professional debut against City after omitting him from the squad that faced FC Thun this past weekend.
