Everton coach, Marco Silva has declared that The Toffees’ Nigerian-born winger, Ademola Lookman agreed to stay put with the side because he showed the youngster how much he believes in him.
With all duet haven settled on the initial falling out between Lookman and the club, which stopped him from returning in a full deal to RB Leipzig of Germany in the summer, Silva says it was simply because he showed love to the lad.
Footballlive.ng can report further that Lookman has since started showing semblances of his brilliant best, such that Silva is happy with his decision to encourage the lad all along at Goodison Park.
Silva added that he is delighted with the progress Lookman is making, after he put behind all impulses of making a return to Leipzig, where he enjoyed a bright spell on loan last season, but The Toffees’ top shots refused to allow him go.
Silva disclosed: “Everything I did to keep him in the club, when maybe some people did not believe in him, I did because I do believe in him.
“From the first day I told him straight, ‘All the offers can come but I do not want to sell you’.
“It was tough to keep him. I did everything in that moment and now it is up to him to keep working hard.”
