Enyimba forward Sunday Adetunji has called on Nigerians not to lose hope in the ability of Enyimba to turns things around ahead of Wednesday’s CAF Confederation Cup second leg semi final against Raja Casablanca in far away Morocco despite having lost the first leg 1-0 at home.
Adetunji told Footballlive.ng shortly before the team’s departure that the most important thing is the attitude of the players which is still very strong.
“We understand the huge task ahead of us in the second leg game in Casablanca. We can’t afford to look at the past but focus on overturning the first leg deficit and earn a good result on Wednesday,” the former Shooting Stars striker noted in a chat with Footballlive.ng.
“If they can come to Aba and win, that means we have what it takes to pay them back in their own coin. All hope isn’t lost. We are motivated to shock them in front of their fans. We won’t show any form of fear. The team will attack in numbers.”
“Our confidence is hinged on a match winning attitude in our fold. One special aspect in the Enyimba team is the attitude and approach to big games like this. We want to go out there and write our own history.”
He called on the fans to believe in this jointly with the players as they attempt to overcome the first leg set back.
