Aigbogun Downplays WAFU Cup Second Place Finish

Date:

Youth national team, Flying Eagles coach, Paul Aigbogun has parried any talk about regrets for his team’s inability to win the WAFU U-20 Cup in Lome, Togo, as he says he only used  the competition to experiment new ideas and test some players.

Footballlive.ng reports that Aigbogun has, however, pledged to work hard to correct all errors noticed in Togo, as he begins preparations for next year’s African U-20 Cup of Nations after the yuletide holidays.

The former Warri Wolves and Enyimba of Aba handler also gave his wards sweet words, and he hailed their character during the competition and expressed hope for better days ahead of all the players.

“This team have shown fantastic character. These are young players who haven’t played international football previously. But this experience will now stand them in good stead,” Aigbogun submitted.
