Plateau United of Jos goalkeeper, Dele Ajiboye has rejected a priviso to first line out in a couple of trial matches before signing the dotted lines with Bahir Dar City FC of Ethiopia.
Though the club are reportedly working on a deal to sign Ajiboye in the summer transfer window, the Super Eagles’ backup shot stopper has refused to accept a directive from the coach, Paulos Getachew to appear in some matches for assessment of his form.
Getachew wants to check Ajiboye before the star is offered a contract but the keeper has disagreed, saying he should be given a straight deal because he is a national team player.
The 28-year-old Korea 2017 gold medallist and best goalkeeper was backup to Ikechukwu Ezenwa at the 2018 Championship of African Nations, before being named into Nigeria’s 2018 World Cup provisional list.
The ex-Prime FC of Osogbo, Wikki Tourists of Bauchi, Pontevedra of Portugal, Shooting Stars of Ibadan, Nasarawa United of Lafia and Warri Wolves of Delta State goal tender is now holding put for better terms to a deal with the Ethiopian club.
