Though Ambrose lamented his side’s Scottish Cup defeat on Tuesday at home against Aberdeen, he is happy over the recent arrival of Mark Milligan, who joined the team from Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia.

The 33-year-old Australian just played two games for Hibs, but has already won the hearts of the manager, Neil Lennon and fans.

Ambrose said the new addition has demonstrated so much zeal and maturity within the short time with the team.

The former Super Eagls defender recnkoned further that Milligan would be avble to contribute in turning Hibernian’s fortunes around as the season grows, but admitted that their loss to Aberdeen was a huge setback, which they have to overcome and fight back stronger.

Ambrose declared: “It was a tough game. We gave our all but somehow luck was not on our side. Football is like that.

We fight another day “He (Milligan) is experienced and talented. He can play anywhere in the defence and to have him in front of the back three is a big plus.

“Our team is much better with him around and it will reflect in our subsequent matches.”
