Ariwachukwu sees tough title fight

Date:

Emmanuel Ariwachukwu believes that the fight for the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title this season will be even more difficult than before.

The central defender has declared that his side are up to the tough task that awaits them, having witnessed the performances of Lobi Stars, Kano Pillars, Enyimba, Niger Tornadoes and Plateau United.
“The remaining 14 games left will be more difficult than the last,” he told Footballlive.ng today.
“I am seeing teams like Lobi Stars, Kano Pillars, Enyimba, Niger Tornadoes and Plateau United that are gaining more confidence and are playing well.”
The strong man stated the Promise Keepers are bracing up to the challenge as his team are ready to win the title.
“The other teams are picking up points, and we are also not left out. We must not only win at home, but play well for consecutive games.
“We are two points off leaders Lobi Stars and have the feeling that we can climb the table and go on top.
Ariwachukwu concluded by praising the work done by coach Abdu Maikaba.
“For me, he is doing a terrific job. The season is starting properly now, and we need to regain confidence.
“I think we’re going to grow though, and I believe he can lead us to the league title following the Aiteo Cup success we recorded last year.”
Akwa United are second in the NPFL table with 41 points from a possible 72.
