Arsenal fans praise Alex Iwobi’s impact in Southampton EPL win

Date:

Arsenal fans around the world have praised Super Eagles winger Alex Iwobi for his exceptional display in the gunners 2 – 0 win over Southampton in the English Premier League on Sunday.

The London Gunners went into the game seeking revenge against the Saints who put an end to their 22 game unbeaten run in December, with the loss being a deciding factor in their title ambition this season and almost knocking them out of the top four contention as they have gone on to lose to Manchester City, West Ham United, and Liverpool in the league.

Fans took to social media to comment on the winger’s performance in the game. Popular Arsenal fan website ‘Pain in the Arsenal’ through its official Twitter handle praised the former academy player on his performance also advising him to continue the good work. “Top performance yet again, Alex! You were always positive and you worked tirelessly as per usual. Onwards!”

Others commented on his work rate and advice him to keep the confidence going. @thearsreview tweeted; “Great performance today. You look more confident on the ball and more decisive in the final third. Keep it up”

@allen_gunners tweeted; “Well played Alex one of your best games today in an Arsenal shirt”

@_alexxray wrote; “Just keep it up bro. You get lots of criticism because fans know how good you can become and want you to be that player someday. Great game bro”

@AFC_KC commented; “Iwobi still only 22 and deserves more praise from our fans. Has a future at this club even though it’s likely as a squad rotation player. The improvement from him this season has been brilliant”

@diwe_uche; replied some fans who stressed that Serge Gnabry should be at the club instead of Iwobi, he said; “Iwobi was seen as a better prospect by those who matter. Deal with it. If you want Gnabry back, you can buy him on behalf of Arsenal. If Arsene and Unai see him as a good player, who cares about your own opinion”

Iwobi on his official Twitter handle tweeted “Thank you Lord” after the game.
