Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala scored a brace but was unable to help her new team Barcelona secure all three points as the fell 3 – 2 at home to Sporting Huelva.
Oshoala opened the scoring for her side in the 16th minute while Huelva replied Barca by scoring three goals in 10 minutes in the second half. Raquel scored the away side’s equaliser in the 58th minute while Anita gave Huelva the lead in the 61st minute before Flor made it 3 – 1 in the 68th minute. Nigerian international Oshoala reduced the deficit on the 84th minute but the Barcelona ladies could not mount a serious comeback to salvage at least a point.
Oshoala has so far scored three goals for the FC Barcelona Femini having scored the final goal for the team in their 4 – 0 away win against Rayo Vallecano in her debut. Reacting to the game against Huelva Asisat on her social media handles wrote; “Lost but glad to score two goals today. We keep fighting.”
The Nigerian international joined Barcelona on loan from Chinese League Side Dalian Quanjian in January till the end of the season.
