Awaziem, Nwakali Shine With Porto’s Main Team

Date:

FC Porto’s duo of Chidozie Awaziem and Kelechi Nwakali are showing good signs of better things to come for them in the team this season, following their spirited efforts in training with the main squad.

Awaziem is back from a season long loan spell at FC Nantes of France, while Nwakali is a summer signing on loan from Arsenal, but both Nigerians are showing great potentials in training with Porto main squad.

Their efforts have already caught the eye of the Portuguese giant outfit’s gaffer, Sergio Conceicao, who may be inclined to include Awaziem and Nwakali in his first team plans for the new season.

While the other Nigerian player at the club, Musa Yahaya is still training with the B-team and had a game with them this week, Nwakali and Awaziem are putting up their biggest efforts with the first team.

Nwakali has stepped up from the B-squad of Porto to the main team after his impressive performances in pre-season games with the back-up side.

The former Golden Eaglets captain again trained with the first team of the main team on Thursday, thereby raising suggestions that he might made the roster for their Primera Liga opener this weekend.

Nwakali made himself an option for the first team after scoring and bagging an assist in two consecutive pre-season games for the B-team.

While Awaziem was among the group of players put through their paces by Conceicao, Nwakali also stepped up his efforts in training with the first team.
