Bonaventure’s Flashes Excite Club Brugge’s Coach

Date:

Club Brugge of Belgium striker, Dennis Bonaventure has received the nod of his coach, Ivan Leko to lead the team’s attack at the start of the new season, as the gaffer relishes the youngster’s speed and flashes.

Though Leko admitted that Bonaventure is sometimes inconsistent during crucial games, he insists the Nigerian youngster’s speed and flashes would always be dangerous to any opposition.

Consequently, Leko will be counting on Bonaventure in Friday’s home fixture against KV Kortjik, following the suspension of Brugge’s star striker, Wesley.

Bonaventure, who last season scored seven goals in 30 appearances, returned to action last week as a late sub at Royal Excel Mouscron, after he suffered an ankle injury in pre-season.

Leko is now banking on 20-year-old to do the magic that will beat Kortjik in front of the home fans and help Brugge continue their winning ways in the new season, as they have won their first two games.

The Brugge coach said: “I expect a lot from him. I count on his flashes and actions, but he is still not very consistent because he is still very young.”
