Brighton & Hove Albion of England defender, Leon Aderemi Balogun is ill and in doubt for an appearance with The Seagulls in Tuesday’s English Premier League match away to Fulham.
Footballlive.ng gathered that, after missing action last weekend in the English FA Cup clash against West Bromwich Albion, on account of the same issue, Balogun is yet to recover and might not be dressed against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
The former Fortuna Dusseldorf, SV Darmstadt and SV Mainz 05 stopper is now in a race against time to make the fixture, as he was not even dressed for Saturday’s Cup match with West Brom.
Balogun had been on course for his second start with The Seagulls, but the club’s manager, Chris Hughton was forced to look elsewhere and give Dan Burn as debut at short notice.
Though Balogun has not enjoyed starting roles with Brighton, Saturday’s goalless draw at home with The Baggies was the first time he failed to make his club’s match day squad since joining them in the summer.
The Super Eagles stopper is behind Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy on the perking order of central defenders at Brighton, but he may now end up facing a third obstacle should Burn shine while Balogun stays out ill.
