Brighton Hove Albion of England defender, Leon Aderemi Balogun has sentationally dump the number 18 jersey he had been hand on arrival at the club, as he will now don 14 for his debut in the English Premier League.
Balogun wore number 14 shirt while on the books of SV Darmstadt 98 during the 2014-2015 season, and he has opted for the same figure at The Seagulls.
Ironically, the most recurring number he has played with is three, which he put on during his spell in Türkiyemspor Berlin, Fortuna Düsseldorf and Mainz.
Balogun played 52 times for Mainz 05 and scored only once during his three years stay with German club.
The 30-year-old Super Eagles stopper moved to Falmer Stadium as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Mainz in the summer.
Balogun has lined out in number 18 all along, since arriving from SV Mainz of Germany, but that has now changed to 14, ahead of his Premier League debut against Watford.
He is now hoping to make Brighton gaffer, Chris Hughton’s line-up when The Seagulls visit Vicarage Road on Saturday for their first EPOL fixture this season.
