Brighton & Hove Albion of England defender, Leon Aderemi Balogun has received a massive confidence-boosting pledged from his coach, Chris Hughton that the side will not be relegated from the Premier League.
Balogun has been out injured since January, which has seen him miss The Seagulls’ last three matches in the top-flight, but footballlive.ng can report that he now has something extra to boost his recovery.
This is based on the battle cry from Hughton, who is counting on Balogun and then other players in joining his charge for survival from the pit of relegation, and insists nobody at the club is panicking.
Hughton is talking tough, despite the fact that The Seagulls have not won an English Premier League game since December 29 and have dropped to 16th in the table, just two points above the drop zone.
This weekend, Brighton face bottom club Huddersfield at the Amex on Saturday, before potentially crucial matches against Crystal Palace and Southampton in March, with Balogun hoping to be back for both.
Balogun’s coach declared: “I have to be concerned because the league table speaks for itself and the form speaks for itself.
“A lot of the games have been close games, even at Leicester I thought the performance was good.
“On another occasion I think we would have got something from the game. With all of them factors, it makes us optimistic.
“We are very conscious that at our level, as a club we are always going to go through some difficulties in a season.
“It’s a difficult period for us but it is a time where you need to hold your nerve. What is vitally important is that we realise where we are.
“Nobody here is panicking. What will get us through is to do what we do best.”
