Liverpool of England youth team player, Bobby Adekanye is still in doubt for action with the squad this weekend, as he is said to be nursing a relapse of a recent injury.
The 19-year-old Adekanye, who trained with Liverpool’s first team last month during the international break, has played in nine matches this term, netting three goals including two in the UEFA Youth League.
However, he may not be available for The Reds’ English Premier League 2 fixture against Derby County U23 on Sunday.
This comes after the Nigerian-born Holland youth international limped off nine minutes before half time in Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Napoli in the UEFA Youth League on October 3 after suffering an ankle injury.
It was feared that Adekanye faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines, as he was on crutches after the game, and Liverpool’s under-23 team coach, Neil Critchley says the lad will face a late fitness test.
Critchley said: ”Bobby is touch and go at the moment. He’s back running but is still feeling it a bit.”
