Nigerian born Austrian international David Alaba was on the score sheet for Bayern Munich in their 3-2 victory over Augsburg in the German Bundesliga on Friday night.
The well deserved win moves the Bavarians two points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund.
With the leaders not in action until Monday’s trip to Nurnberg – and having thrown away a three-goal lead to draw at home to Hoffenheim in their last league game before again conceding three in a heavy Champions League loss at Tottenham – Dortmund are being hunted by Bayern.
The hosts took the lead in the first minute through Leon Goretzka’s own goal but it was swiftly cancelled by the away side thanks to Kingsley Coman.
Ji Dong-won shot the home side ahead again in the 23rd minute with an excellent strike to announce his team’s readiness to win the game.
Bayern pulled level on the stroke of half time through Coman to rekindle their hopes of fetching at least a point in the match.
And within seven minutes of the restart Bayern led, Coman adding an assist to his brace by setting up Alaba for a thumping finish that beat Gregor Kobel at his near post.
