CAF U-20 AFCON: Victory or nothing for Flying Eagles -Paul Aigbogun

Head coach of Nigeria’s U-20 national team, Paul Osahon Aigbogun has stated that for the team to make it to the final of the ongoing CAF U – 20 Africa Cup of Nations in Niger the team must do all it takes to improve on their previous performances at the championship.

Nigeria will face the junior Eagles of Mali in the first semi final match of the competition at the Stade General Seyni Kountche in Niamy by 4:30 pm Nigerian time on Wednesday.

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles topped group A with seven points followed by South Africa and are yet to lose a match after three games winning two with one draw against South Africa’s Amajitas in the group’s second game.

With Nigeria set to face Mali head coach of the Flying Eagles Paul Aigbogun has stated that the team’s objective is to go through to the final but lots of sacrifices must be made in terms of improving the team’s play and attitude. “Our objective is to go through to the final but to achieve that we need to be better on Wednesday against a good team. We created the conditions to reach the final.”

Mali finished second on the group B table on six points behind Senegal who amassed maximum nine points in the group. The West African country defeated Burkina Faso and Ghana by a lone goal respectively in the group stage while they lost their first game to 2 – 0 to Senegal.

The Flying Eagles match will be officiated by Amin Mohamed Amin Mohamed Omar of Egypt.
