In a thrilling Serie A encounter at the Marc Antonio Bentegodi, AC Milan emerged victorious with a convincing 3-1 win over Hellas Verona, to move them into second position after Juventus failed to win against Genoa.
The match burst into life in the 44th minute when Theo Hernandez opened the scoring for Milan with a clinical finish, the left back with his 5th league goal of the season just before the halftime interval.
Milan continued their onslaught in the second half, with Christian Pulisic extending their lead to 2-0 in the 50th minute. The American scoring for the fourth consecutive, showing off his impressive form.
However, Verona refused to go down without a fight and managed to pull one back in the 64th minute through Tijjani Noslin, injecting a sense of urgency into the proceedings as they sought an equalizer.
Milan responded to Verona’s goal, introducing Samuel Chukweze in the 74th minute. Chukweze wasted no time in making an impact, finding the back of the net in the 79th minute to restore Milan’s two-goal cushion. The goal marked a significant milestone for Chukweze, as it was his first Serie A goal for Milan after 16 appearances.
Milan now sit second with 62 points from 29 games played, while Verona sit 15th with 26 points from 29 points.
