Villarreal of Spain youngster, Samuel Chukwueze has received a massive boost ahead of his likely debut with the Super Eagles on Saturday, as he has been nominated in the roll call of the best young players in La Liga.
Chukwueze is still basking in the euphoria of his first invitation to the Nigerian senior national team, after popping to stardom in winning the Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup with the Golden Eaglets, and now has more reasons to stand tall.
Footballlive.ng reports that this comes after Chukwueze was named in the shortlist for the best young player in the Spanish top-flight, along with Ousmane Dembele of Barcelona and Vinicius Jnr of Real Madrid.
Chukwueze has taken the La Liga by storm this season after notching a goal in Copa del Rey then netted his first La Liga bull’s eye last weekend, which gave him a spot in the short-list for goal of the week.
He is now rated among La Liga’s best young players, following his huge performances with The Yellow Submarine in his debut season with the team’s senior squad.
The 19-year-old is also high in the rankings of Eagles’ coach, Gernot Rohr, which makes him likely to make his debut against South Africa in this Saturday’s AFCON 2019 qualifier or Tuesday’s friendly against Uganda.
