Osimhen Shows Strong Nigerian Qualities – Voetbal

Date:

Leading Belgian magazine, Voetbal has revealed that the factors that led to Racing Chaleroi of Belgium youngster, Victor Osimhen being named among their top-20 young players of the season is because ‘he shows strong Nigerian qualities.’

While noting that the Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup top scorer and gold medalist is currently on loan at Charleroi from VfL Woflsburg of Germany, footballllive.ng reports that Voetbal stated that Osimhen is one of the current top 20 talents in the Belgian First Division A.

The dfast-rising striker, who was rejected in the summer by Club Brugge and Zulte Waregem, has found his scoring range with Charleroi, hence his nomination by Voetbal Magazine.

In eleven outings across all competitions for The Zebras, Osimhen has six goals and one assist, which have added up to earn him a call to the Super Eagles for Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa.

Of the 20 players rated born after January 1, 1996, Osimhen ranks 12th, which is a massive transformation to his redundant days at Wolfsburg.

Voetbal added about him: ”From his first training sessions showed the strong Nigerian qualities that stunned the coaching staff of the Zebras.

”Borrowed by Wolfsburg and in Belgium already has the compliments of the defenders who he has come up against.”
