Villarreal of Spain rising star, Samuel Chukwueze has received a charge from the club’s coach, Javi Calleja, who wants the youngster to let his talent run free by doing more than he is told by the crew.
In his assessment of Chukwueze’s early impact since becoming a regular in The Yellow Submarine’s main team, Calleja said the Super Eagles’ rookie has shown he can play to instructions, but added that being a good player means also becoming creative on the field of play.
Consequently, footballllive.ng can report that Calleja wants more of the good stuff from Chukwueze, after his maiden goal in the league in a 2-2 draw against Rayo Vallecano last weekend.
Calleja was once again full of praise for the 19-year-old Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup revelation, who scored the opener for his team after a piece of neat skill to get past his markers before slotting home.
After Chukwueze was rated the best player on the pitch for Villarreal, Calleja said more should be expected of the forward, but added that the lad will have to show more of his instinct and initiative.
Calleja expatriated: He still has a lot to learn and offer. It’s nice to see him put into practice things he was taught in training.
“When he starts doing things on his own then the real talent will manifest.
“Like every young player who is new to the first team he still plays with caution.
“In the coming days he will be at ease and hopefully show more reason why we have faith in him.”
