Remo Stars head coach, Daniel Ogunmodede has signed a new three-year contract that ties him to the club until 2027.
The club announced the contract extension on Tuesday stating, “We are glad to announce that Daniel Ogunmodede has signed an extension to remain as the head coach of the club until 2027.”
Ogunmodede’s new deal comes just five days before Remo Stars face AS FAR Rabat of Morocco in the CAF Champions League preliminary game.
The coach appreciates the club’s trust in him, stating it is a major source of motivation ahead of the new season.
“Saying I am glad is an understatement for me. This is my club, my project,” Ogunmodede said. “I’ve been here for a couple of years now, working relentlessly, and I’m happy the club appreciates what I’ve done so far.”
Daniel Ogunmodede has been with Remo Stars since 2016, initially serving as assistant head coach. He helped guide the team to promotion from the second division in 2021 before heading to Portugal for further development at their sister club, Feirense. He returned to Nigeria in 2022 and led the team to a second-place finish in the 2023/24 NPFL season.
Following the match against AS FAR, Remo Stars will kick off the new NPFL season with a fixture against Abia Warriors.
