Coach Gbenga Ogunbote describes oriental derby as tougher as expected.

Date:

Speaking immediately after the oriental derby match between Rangers International and Enyimba Fc of Aba  that ended in 1-0 Victory for Rangers Int’l is the head coach of Rangers International coach Gbenga Ogunbote.

He said,  We never expected an easy  game,  because it’s a derby, and that’s what we have seen ,  in a derby match you can not see large numbers of goals , sometimes just a total of 1 or 3 goals in the match.
In regard to the last season derby, my  previous season derby was not a good one for us because we lost at home , i feel there is lots of improvement following our win at home,  getting the three points at home is a good one for us and i pray we are able to manage it.
Accessing our previous matches , i will say it not a bad start,  the most important thing is getting it right at the end of the day.
Concerning playing against my former team which i have coached ,in honest thoughts i will say Enyimba Fc is a team with rich pedigree,  looking at the caliber players in the team,  you will know it’s a team with strong standard.
Rating player now for me,  it too early to begin to judge the performances of a player right now but one thing that is certain we brought them in to give us results , and we know they will be able to deliver but it’s not going to be easy , it is going to be  gradual process, if  a team can train with you for one year consistently , you will get the best  result out of the team.
The Enugu Rangers gaffer concluded by saying our team is a work in progress team, because we are still building a formidable brand that will be a force to reckon with.
