DEAL DONE: Babatunde Michael signs lucrative deal with Wydad Casablanca of Morocco

Date:

Super Eagles midfielder Babatunde Michael has put behind him the disappointments of missing out from the 2018 World Cup by sealing a lucrative 3-year deal worth 1.5million US dollars with Wydad Casablanca of Morocco

The 2014 World Cup star made history, Friday, as he became the first Nigerian to play for both Moroccan giants Raja and Wydad Casablanca, two of the most revered club sides in Morocco.

Proprietor of MK Sports international, Nureni Makanjuala, who owns and Manages Babatunde Micheal alongside Super Eagles and Akwa United striker Gabriel Okechukwu was very excited after the deal was sealed earlier on Friday.

“I am a relieved man, i am happy we have finally pulled this through. Baba is back on familiar terrain where he is loved and appreciated.

Remember he became a cult hero here with Raja before leaving, am sure he will reenact same form at Wydad Casablanca.

Missing out from Nigeria’s final 23-man World cup list, has turned out a blessing in disguise for us, hopefully he will get back to his best form soon and make the 2019 Nations cup team. He is young so his time will surely come”

The former U-23 star has been out of the senior national team for the past 18 months.

He previously played for Volyn Lutsk and Dnipro, both in Ukraine
