Club Brugge of Belgium attacker, Dennis Bonaventure has joined the growing list of injured Nigerian players, as he was ruled out his side’s 4-0 away win against AS Monaco of France in the UEFA Champions League.
The setback stopped Dennis from getting his third game in this season’s UCL, as Hans Vanaken twinkled with two goals in six minutes of the first half, Wesley struck in the 24th minute and Ruud Vormer made it four.
Dennis missed the game in Monte Carlo because he is yet to recover from a hamstring injury.
The 20-year-old Dennis, who also missed the start of the season, after he suffered an ankle injury in pre-season, has scored twice so far this season, in eight league appearances for the Belgian champions.
Ironically, Brugge’s Nigerian-born winger, Arnaut Danjuma, who has chosen Holland ahead of Nigeria, was also absent against Monaco.
Danjuma is still nursing an ankle injury he copped when Holland drew 1-1 with Belgium in a friendly last month.
