Ebi: We’ll Give Everything Against Cameroon

Date:

Super Falcons’ alternate captain, Onome Ebi has declared that she and her teammates will give everything they have in order to beat Cameroon in Tuesday’s semi-final of the Africa Women Cup of Nations in Ghana.

Ebi declared that the Falcons are in the right frame of mind to give their all and subdue Cameroon’s Lionesses in Accra.

Footballlive.ng also gathered that Ebi banking on high spirits in the team’s camp, occasioned by what she called motivation from Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the team’s coaches and their fans.

While also extending her thanks to President Muhammadu Buhari, Ebi boldly declared: We are in great spirit for the semi final match with the Cameroonians. We made our mistake against South Africa.

“I think it was a great wake-up call for us. That defeat told us something: that we should never under-rate any team and that we must be ready to give our 100 per cent for every match.

“We will give everything we have to get past the Lionesses and qualify for the World Cup, and then we can battle the final with whichever team we meet there.

“We are not interested in the losers’ route. We want to get to the final and to fight to retain our trophy. We want both the World Cup ticket and the AFCON trophy.

“We are in high spirit. The entire team is well motivated. Our immense gratitude goes to our father, President Muhammadu Buhari, as well as the NFF led by its President, Mr. Amaju Pinnick.

“The Government has done well to put us in good frame of mind and the NFF has done their own part. It is now for us to repay the good gestures.

“We know that if we continue to win, it means more money in our pockets. Surely, we want to win more and make more money.

“There is no doubt that the Cameroonians have improved from the team we defeated in Yaounde in 2016. But that is expected.

“Whenever we play Cameroon, it is always a big fight. We are prepared for the big fight and we are sure we will come out victorious.

“The Cameroonians cannot stop us from the World Cup or from retaining our Cup. The Cup is ours.”
