England reached the semi-finals of the World Cup for the first time since 1990 after they defeated Sweden 2-0 in their quarterfinal tie on Saturday afternoon.

The match was a cagey affair in the opening exchanges, with the Swedes sitting deep in their own half while England were searching for a way through

England have now reached the semi-final at a Word Cup for the first time in 28 years.
