Etebo Excited With Move To Stoke City

Date:

New signing at Stoke City of England, Oghenekaro Etebo says he is excited with the deal that sees him become the fourth Nigerian to star for The Potters, saying he thrilled to be a new player for the team that once had Shola Ameobi, Peter Osaze Odemwingie and Victor Moses.

Though Stoke were last season relegated from the English Premier League, and will have to compete in the lower cadre Championship next term, the 22-year-old midfielder said he is glad to make the move.

The former Warri Wolves and CD Feirense of Portugal star, who played on loan at Las Palmas of Spain last season, stated after his transfer was confirmed on Monday that he is happy to be a Potter.

Etebo, who moves from Feirense on a five-year deal worth €7.2m took to social media to express his thoughts, with a short message that conveyed how delighted he is with the deal.

“Happy to be a Potter! See you guys after the World Cup!” wrote Etebo, who has been capped 14 times by Nigeria and was a substitute in last week’s friendly against England.
