Las Palmas of Spain midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo has been hit with fresh fitness problems, as he has been ruled out of his club’s last away match of the season against Eibar at Estadio Municipal de Ipurúa on Saturday.
Etebo has not been able to participate in training due to muscular discomfort ahead of the trip to the Basque Country and will not be named in the team roster, but he is expected to resume full training early next week and make himself available for selection against Girona the following weekend.
The 22-year-old, who has made 13 league appearances for Paco Jémez’s relegated side this season, was excused from Las Palmas’ training ahead of their visit to Eibar for Saturday’s La Liga encounter.
Etebo played the entire duration of his side’s 1-0 home loss to Getafe, did not join his teammates in Tuesday’s training due to a muscle discomfort.
As a precaution, the lad on loan from CD Feirense of Portugal, was left to be monitored by the club’s physiotherapists to ensure his fitness ahead of La Union Deportiva’s final away game this season.
“Etebo did not participate in the team’s afternoon training due to muscle discomfort. He has undergone physiotherapy treatments by the medical and recovery services of the club.
“Etebo, as a precaution, was absent in the evening training of the team working on the visit to Ipurua, the last trip of the season.
“The Nigerian player was in the hands of the physiotherapists, due to some muscular problems,” Las Palmas disclosed.
