Etebo Stays Cautious In World Cup Permutations

Date:

Las Palmas of Spain midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo is staying cautious in his permutations ahead of the Super Eagles’ outing at the World Cup, as he admits two of Nigeria’s Group D rivals, Argentina and Croatia, will be tough to beat.

While also noting that the third opponent, Iceland, would love to pull off some shocks in the debut at the Mundial, Etebo said the Eagles must be well focused heading into all their matches, but reasoned that they should be able to carry the day with determination.

Etebo stated further that the Eagles are on course to do the nation proud and that the players are ready to give their best in Russia.

While affirming that all the players know what is at stake and will give their all to ensure the country is well represented, the 2016 Rio Olympics bronze medallist promised Nigerians of a good outing in Russia compared to previous tournaments.

“I believe in the current set of players we have in the national team; we are united and always ready to deliver for the country.

“I know we have a very tough group because playing Argentina and Croatia won’t be an easy task.

“I have faced some of their players already in the La Liga and I know how they play, so I am sure with hard work and determination, we will do wonders at the World Cup,” Etebo said.
