Stoke City midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo’s return from suspension is drawing bolts of excitement from his coach at The Potters, as the gaffer, Gary Rowett says he expects a bolder impact from the Super Eagles’ star.
Heading into Saturday’s English Championship clash against Millwall at Bet365 Stadium, Rowett said it was unfortunate that Etebo had a forced absence from three straight matches, but believes the lad will storm back better.
Following Etebo’s first red card in English football last month, Rowett is happy to have him back, after his suspension saw him miss action against Reading, Ipswich Town and Aston Villa.
Ironically, Stoke, who are five points behind Middlesbrough, who occupy the last playoff spot, were unbeaten in the three games Etebo was not available, but Rowett says that does not mean the battling midfielder was not missed.
The Potters’ boss hinted that the team would have stronger depth and better mobility in the middle when the former Warri Wolves, Feirense of Portugal and Las Palmas of Spain star plays.
Rowett said: ”We have Peter Etebo coming back into the fold after he had an enforced break and I certainly expect him to come back in and have an impact.”
