Inter Lagos head coach, Gabriel Ezeama, has hailed his team’s historic advancement to the quarter-finals of the President’s Federation Cup as a remarkable feat.
This marks Inter Lagos’s debut season in the competition.
Inter Lagos showcased resilience by coming back from a goal down and overcoming a red card, and force a draw against Ikorodu City in regular time.
They secured their quarter-final berth by triumphing in a penalty shootout, winning 5-4.
Following the victory, Ezeama emphasized the team’s commitment to building on their performance and striving to compete at their best in every upcoming match.
“It’s a great achievement for us knowing that we are debutant and getting to this point for the first time ever competing in this tournament” said the Inter Lagos Coach.
“Its huge, we just want to build on it and take it one more game at a time.”
Inter Lagos will next face El-Kanemi Warriors, another NNL side, in the quarter-finals, as they continue their pursuit of glory in the competition.
