Rangers’ technical adviser, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has attributed his team’s loss to Rivers United to defensive mistakes during the match.
The Flying Antelopes suffered a 2-0 defeat against Rivers United in Port Harcourt, with Alex Oyowah and Deputy Echeta netting the goals for the home side.
Speaking after the match, Ilechukwu acknowledged the defensive lapses that cost his team a positive result, saying, “We lost and it was a bad day for us, too many errors in the defence line.”
Despite the setback, Ilechukwu remains optimistic and believes there is room for improvement. He emphasized the need for his team to learn from the defeat and continue working hard, stating, “Rivers United is a continental team and they are a big team, so you use everything to play, you don’t rest against a big team because if you do, they will punish you and that’s just what happened today.”
Despite the defeat, Rangers still maintain their position at the top of the table and will be looking to bounce back in their upcoming fixtures.
