Flying Eagles Maintain Winning Streak In Last Friendly in Abuja

Date:

The Flying Eagles continued their winning momentum in preparation for the WAFU B U20 AFCON in Togo with a 2-0 victory over Legacy Academy of Abuja.

The friendly match took place at the main bowl of the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

Despite facing a physically imposing Legacy Academy team, the understrength U20 squad, coached by Aliyu Zubairu, found the net in both halves to secure a comfortable win.

This is expected to be the Flying Eagles’ final game in Abuja before relocating to Ikenne for the next phase of their training camp.

Drawn into Group B, the Flying Eagles will face Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso in the group stage of the sub-regional WAFU B qualifiers, which kick off on October 17 in Lome, Togo.

The tournament serves as the qualifier for next year’s U20 AFCON.
