Galatasaray Plans to Keep Victor Osimhen Beyond Loan Period

Date:

Galatasaray Sportif AŞ deputy chairman, İbrahim Hatipoğlu, has announced that the club is aiming to make Victor Osimhen loan move permanent, after the Nigerian striker joined the Istanbul giants on a season-long loan from Napoli.

Osimhen, after a failed deadline-day transfer to Chelsea, has already caught the attention of top European clubs, with reports suggesting that certain clauses in his loan contract could allow a permanent move in January.

However, Hatipoğlu dismissed these claims, making it clear that the club has no intention of letting Osimhen leave before June 2025.

“Osimhen’s leaving in January is out of the question.”

”In fact, we are making plans to have Osimhen play next season as well. Osimhen is a Galatasaray player until June. Discussing this is aimed at changing the agenda, at spoiling the pleasure of watching Osimhen. The player shows how devoted he is to Galatasaray in every match.”

“A person plays where he is happy. He has a contract with us until the end of the season. He is very happy to have come to Galatasaray. We should think about how he will be together with Osimhen in the following seasons.”

“There is no need to discuss whether he will leave during the break.”

Securing Victor Osimhen permanently could prove challenging for Galatasaray, as his contract with Napoli reportedly includes a €75 million release clause.

Nevertheless, the Turkish champions are determined to ensure that Osimhen remains part of their squad permanently for the future.
