HIFL: IT’S A SECOND CHANCE, WE CAN AFFORD TO MISS IT- GAMBARI ISIAKA

University of Ilorin football team (Unilorinwarriors) Stunned their host in the first leg quarter final of the on going Higher Institution Football League (HIFL) as they came two goals to the good to head into the return leg in Ilorin with a comfortable win in Sokoto.

Coach Isiaka Gambari, a Masters degree student of the department of Human Kinetics Education disclose in the post match conference that he saw the game as a second chance after his team was bundled out of the HIFL by ABU Zaria before Ethics and disciplinary committee found the later to had infringed on the rule of the game by fielding an ineligible player against them which led to the disqualification of the Zaria.

“I want to appreciate the name of Allah for bringing us this far, it wouldn’t had been him from the on start, we were given a second chance and we agreed to make it count and my boys didn’t disappoint me today and I am grateful for that”.

The Coach went on to reveal that he was not disappointed with his side’s lost chances despite winning by two goals.

“Kudos must first been given to the players over a determined display despite getting into Sokoto in less than four hours to the game, I feel happy and proud as a coach with such feat and hopefully we will get back home and cement our qualification, he concluded”.

The return leg is slated to take place on the 19th of September at the University of Ilorin Main football complex.
