Brian Idowu could not help his Lokomotiv Moscow side avoid a fourth defeat in the UEFA Champions League as they suffered a heavy 4-1 loss to FC Porto on Tuesday night, bringing their campaign this season to screeching halt.
It was Idowu’s third appearance for the club this season in the UCL and another 90minutes under his belt, like the previous outings.
An unused substitute in the first-leg against the Portuguese side, the left-back played the entire duration of the match at the Estádio do Dragão.
The Nigeria international played down the left flank in a four-man defence.
On an individual level, the 26-year-old did not disappoint. He put in a good shift and was rated his side’s fourth best player in the match.
However, Lokomotiv are without a point in all four group D matches and have a terrible defensive record of 11 goals – the worst so far.
