Former home-based Eagles midfielder, Ifeanyi Ifeanyi has backed Nigeria’s main team to beat Libya in this weekend’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo.
Casting his mind ahead of the fixture at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, the Akwa United of Uyo star said he expects the visitors to fall under Nigeria’s superior quality of players.
Ifeanyi, who is also a former youth international, said he is certain of victory for Nigeria, because of the quality of players invited for the tie.
Some analysts have hinted that the visitors could shock Nigeria with a draw, as they did away to South Africa last time out, or even by winning, the way Bafana Bafana did in Uyo on the opening day of the qualifiers.
However, Ifeanyi said he is not even scared of a draw for the Eagles on Saturday, talk less of losing, as he believes the Nigerian team’s strength will make a difference on match day in Uyo.
Ifeanyi declared: “I am sure that the players can defeat the Libyans in Uyo on Saturday. I do not harbour any fear of a shock at home for us.
“I am sure we will overcome the Libyans; because the Super Eagles have the needed talents and strength to defeat them.”
