Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr has showed his support to underfire striker Odion Ighalo who netted a goal for the team in a 3-0 win over Seychelles.
The Changchun Yatai forward scored from the penalty spot for the Eagles who thrashed Pirates in a 2019 Africa Nations Cup (AFCON) Qualifier on Saturday
Ighalo has recently come under fire from football fans who have continually questioned his inclusion in the senior national team set up despite his hot form for Changchun Yatai in the Chinese Super League.
The former Julius Berger and Udinese forward silenced his critics with a goal from the spot at the Stade Linite.
“I’m happy that Odion Ighalo scored for us from the penalty spot,” Gernot Rohr said to Footballlive.ng.
“On the whole, am happy with the performance of the boys.”
