Changchun Yatai of China striker, Odion Jude Ighalo says he is highly delighted to have struck his 21st goal of the season at the weekend.
After setting a new personal best of highest number of goals scored personally in a single season, footballlive.ng reports that Ighalo gave credit for the support he got from his teammates, coaches and fans.
Ighalo’s previous best was back in the 2014-2015 season when he netted 20 league goals for Watford but he has now bettered that record by one, but the former Udinese of Italy star sad he would have loved to win.
He returned to action for Changchun Yatai on Saturday after sitting out last weekend’s match against Beijing Sinobo Guoan due to a suspension.
Ighalo was on target in the 88th minute, but Yatai eventually lost the game 2-1 to Chongqing Dangdai Lifan.
