Super Eagles striker, Odion Jude Ighalo is ready to play in the second division in China, as he has indicated that he is not thinking of leaving relegated Changchun Yatai.
Against all permutations, Ighalo has opted to keep faith with the club that named him captain soon after he joined them from Watford of England.
Footballlive.ng gathered further that Ighalo is thinking cautiously too, as his recent battles with injuries and advanced age mean he might not be valuable at any club he might opt to join should he leave Yatai.
Changchun Yatai were relegated from the Chinese top flight, despite Ighalo’s record 21 goals, but he missed the last match of the campaign due to injury.
However, Ighalo has resumed training after a knee injury he suffered in the closing weeks of the season, and is making himself available for a longer stay with the relegated club.
A source close to the Ajegunle, Lagos-born attacker says Ighalo will not be thinking of a new direction when the Chinese Super League transfer window opens on January 4.
Ighalo’s associate affirmed: “Odion is most likely to stay in China, but we just have to wait and see where that will be by the time the transfer window opens again.”
