Super Eagles goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa has expressed his fulfillment as a player having been part of major World football tournaments including the recently concluded Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Ikechukwu Ezenwa was a member of the 2007 U-20 World Cup squad as well as the 2008 Olympics where he alongside the team won a silver medal and most recently he was a member of Super Eagles contingent to the Russia 2018 World Cup although he had to make do with backup role as emerging talent, Francis Uzoho was considered as first choice.
Speaking to www.footballive.ng the CHAN Eagles captain said, “I consider the opportunity a privilege and reward for the hardwork put in as it as helped contribute to am meteoric rise as a professional footballer.”
On what his focus was moving forward, he said, “I am just focused on helping my team [Enyimba International] qualify to the next round of the Confederations Cup.”
The player who was delighted that his team was finally returning to its natural home concluded by stating in joy to be back playing in front of the Aba crowd even as he mentioned he and his teammates were solely preparing to get the better of Top Malian, Djoliba SC as the team looks to secure passage into the next round.
