“It wasn’t the best period of my career”- Angel Di Maria

Date:

Four years after, Angel Di Maria was in familiar surroundings as PSG trained at Old Trafford on Monday evening before the beginning of their 2018/2019 Champions League last-16 tie with Manchester United, Paris giants will face United for the first time ever in a competitive match today as their two-legged European clash gets underway.

Angel on his return to his former club says “It wasn’t the best period of my career, or they didn’t let me have my best time there, There were problems with the coach at the time. But thanks to God, I was able to come to PSG and be myself again.”

Angel Di Maria signed for Manchester United and was immediately handed the famous number seven shirt at the club, in the 2014 summer transfer window for a then record-breaking transfer fee of £59.7m. He made just 27 Premier League appearances for United before being shipped out to Paris Saint Germain one season later.

Di Maria at Paris Saint Germain had a fantastic debut season as he set a new record in Ligue 1 for assisting the most number of goals in a season.

Angel Di Maria, As an infant was unusually active and at the recommendation of his physician to give out his tremendous energy started practicing football at age 3. He also helped his parents with their work at a local coal yard along with his two sisters. Due to the low income, his family earned, purchasing football boots and keeping up with Di María’s hobby was difficult for his parents. Ángel would spend all day at the football academy and then leave directly for his workplace. He worked hard to earn some additional money.

At the age of 4, he joined the first football club of his career, ‘Rosario Central,’ and in 2007, he joined the European club ‘Benfica’ and received a huge signing amount. He immediately bought a home for his parents. In 2010, he joined the popular football club ‘Real Madrid’ and played a huge role in the club’s victory at the 2011–2012 ‘La Liga.’ He helped his team win the ‘UEFA Champions League.’ In 2014, he moved to ‘Manchester United.’

As Angel Di Maria aiming to help PSG down Manchester United, the Paris Saint-Germain forward badly wants to prove a point to a few current Manchester United figures who questioned that character. He returns to Old Trafford in peak form, and all the more important a figure because of injuries to Neymar and Edinson Cavani.
