Super Eagles winger, Alex Iwobi’s performance in the English Premier League home draw against Liverpool on Saturday has continued to draw praises from former footballers, pundits, coaches and millions of football fans across the globe.
Iwobi who was a 68th minute substitute for Henrikh Mkhitaryan played a number of roles in the match including being deployed as a left back after Sead Kolasinac made way for forward Danny Welbeck in the later part of the second half.
At the post match press conference, Arsenal coach Unai Emery who has been pegged as the man responsible for Iwobi’s new found form had some words of praise for the Nigerian youngster. “Iwobi can impact hard in the match… This impact in some moments like our goal is important.”
Emery also believes Iwobi can do better than creating assists for others. “His energy, his quality. He can improve, he can do better. He scored against Chelsea; I want him to be nearer the goal, having chances to score more. He can. He’s very young.”
Iwobi’s introduction into the massive English premier League fixture against high flying and unbeaten Liverpool proved off after he provided a perfect through ball into the box for Alexander Lacazette to convert the equalizer.
